Often, when the shoe is shuffled, the first card turned around will expose how many cards the dealer should "burn up" (toss away) between offers for every hand. So, if the very first card about would be the two of Hearts, the supplier will burn off two playing cards in between Just about every hand until eventually the shoe is reshuffled.??????????
